Living:Tips for living while amalgam fillings are still installed
From MercuryTalk
Amalgam (mercury-based) dental fillings emit mercury vapor 24 hour-a-day, 7 days-a-week. Most of the vapor gets inhaled or ingested.
During this time of mercury exposure, there are a number of things you can do to help your body maintain or regain your health. Following is a list of tips.
- Don't drink milk because it interferes with your bodies ability to expel mercury.
- Don't drink caffiene because it converts mercury to a form which enables it to pass through cell walls making it more harmful.
- Don't eat seafood because it often contains mercury.
- Don't ingest NutraSweet. It is a well-known poison and can cause additional health issues.
- Don't eat high-sulphur foods like eggs because they mobilize (chelate) mercury in your body causing it to redistribute potentially causing additional damage.
- Don't eat processed sugars like candy bars, soft drinks, etc.
- Have at least 4 cups of purified, non-fluoridated water daily.
- Take lots of Vitamin C (2500 to 5000 mgs/day) because this will help protect your body from the oxidative effects of mercury. It's best to spread it throughout the day in 3 even doses with or without a meal.
- Take 400 iu /day of Vitamin E with Selenium as this protects your brain from the oxidative effects of mercury and replaces selenium which is displaced by mercury.
- Take 1500 to 2000 mg /day of Algin as this absorbs mercury in the colon to help prevent reabsorbtion. Spead these throughout the day in 3 equal doses between meals. We believe that Algin is the most important thing you can do short of having the fillings replaced by a specially-trained dentist.
