Detoxing:Avoiding The Seven-Day Immune Cycle
From MercuryTalk
The human body encounters short periods of profound weakness in the immune system on the seventh, fourteenth, and twenty-first day after an immune challenge occurs.

What Is The Seven-Day Immune Cycle?
Studies have shown that the immune system operates on specific, well-known cycles. One of these cycles is of great importance to those attempting to successfully detox mercury. It's called The Seven-Day Immune Cycle. Dr. Hal Huggins speaks about this cycle in his book, "It's All In Your Head"
When the immune system encounters a specific type of challenge, such as when an amalgam filling is installed, Dr. Huggins found that a patient's immune system is particularly vulnerable to the same type of challenge seven days, fourteen days, and twenty-one days later.
Dr. Huggins makes this important point: If the immune system receives another challenge seven days after an initial challenge, a patient may feel a little sick with flu-like symptoms on the fourteenth day. If the immune system receives yet another challenge on the fourteenth day after the initial challenge, then on the twenty-first day, the patient may actually get sick for a couple days.
Dr. Huggins goes on to say that those patients that receive yet another immune challenge on the twenty-first day, may actually acquire a serious illness like an autoimmune disease or multiple sclerosis (MS).
What Causes The Seven-Day Immune Cycle?
According to Huggins, the seven-day immune cycle phenomenon is caused by normal immune system component lifespans. Cells that make up the immune system that identify and adapt to a toxin essentially die in seven days. On this day, large numbers of new cells are being regenerated. During this process, these new cells are not able to work normally which makes your body particular vulnerable to toxins that caused a reaction seven days earlier.
Dr. Huggins make references to chemotherapy patients who, after receiving a dose of a toxic chemotherapy agent, often has very tangible reactions sever, fourteen, and twenty-one days later. He also says that seriously ill patients can experience symptoms as late as forty-two and sixty-three days.
How The Seven-Day Immune Cycle Relates To Dental Work
The obvious application of this information is to avoid similar types of toxic exposures in days which are multiples of seven from the original exposure. Please note that the day of exposure is considered "day-one".
If you choose an accelerated detox plan involving chemical agents like DMPS or even natural mercury detox supplements, make sure you plan your dosages so as not to coincide with the seven-day immune cycle. In simple terms, if you have a hard day of detox, make sure to rest on the seventh, fourteenth, and twenty-first day after.
Our Personal Experience
Laura's Experience With DMPS
My business partner (Laura Clement) experienced the seven-day immune cycle while detoxing using DMPS. Although she would not choose to use DMPS if she had to detox mercury again, when she did, on the evening of the third administration of the DMPS I.V. drip—which was twenty-one days after the original administration—she came down with a 103 degree fever and very serious symptoms that almost put her in the hospital.
My Personal Experience
In my own experience, I've noticed a very real manifestation of the seven-day immune cycle in my own life. If you maintain a journal or simply keep track of immune exposures and patterns of symptoms, you'll be shocked at how predictable these cycles occur.
For me, they generally result in "low-energy" days that occur 7 days after performing some hard physical work. On these days, I take nutritional supplements in anticipation of these symptoms.
Caffiene: Another Interesting Cycle
Another example of one of these cycles has to do with caffiene.
Caffiene is a potent substance that causes a number of reactions in the body. One of these is the dilation of capillaries. The increased blood flow during this dilation is part of the reason for the "energy" you experience after ingesting it. The down side is that you will have caffiene withdrawal if you don't continue ingesting it.
The interesting pattern I have found with caffiene is this: Almost exactly 22 hours after ingesting caffiene, I will have withdrawal symptoms. These symptoms are the opposite of the symptoms I experience when I ingest caffiene. Because one of the effects of caffiene withdrawal is the constriction of capillaries. This causes a reduction of blood flow to areas of the body which are fed by capillaries, namely, the joints, skin, eyes, and brain. This reduction in blood flow causes oxygen deprivation to these areas and results in pain, namely, joint pain, cold skin, pains behind your eyes, and headaches.
For me, the onset of caffiene withdrawal is like clockwork. These caffiene withdrawal symptoms happen in about 10 minutes from the time I first detect them coming on to the time they are fully engaged. When this happend, it is a friendly reminder to me to ask what I ate 22 hours earlier.
We hope the knowledge of the seven-day immune cycle will give you greater control over your health and life and help you help others as well.
