The ADA (American Dental Association) Really Cares About Your Health

Following is a legal statement from the American Dental Association (ADA). The emphasis I've provided will help you read between the lines. If you're a dentist, you should be outraged and withdraw your membership immediately.

"The American Dental Association (ADA) owes no legal duty of care to protect the public from allegedly dangerous products used by dentists. The ADA did not manufacture, design, supply or install the mercury-containing amalgams. The ADA does not control those who do. The ADA's only alleged involvement in the product was to provide information regarding its use. Dissemination of information relating to the practice of dentistry does not create a duty of care to protect the public from potential injury."

The Superior Court of the State of California
Case No. 718228, Demurrer (October 22, 1992)

Did you detect that the ADA may be implying that Dentists are responsible for the consequences of using allegedly dangerous materials? To condense the statement, the ADA says:

"The ADA did not ...install..."

Does this imply that those who do install are responsible?

If you're a Dentist, you may want to carefully consider whether the ADA has been honest with you concerning the safety of mercury-amalgam fillings. You may also want to consider how you've been harmed by the statements the ADA made to you (by putting you in litigations way) in their own literature that says that mercury, once bound to the other materials in an amalgam filling, is safe. Here is a similar quote from the ADA's website taken November 18th, 2004:

"The ADA’s Council on Scientific Affairs’ 1998 report on its review of the recent scientific literature on amalgam states: "The Council concludes that, based on available scientific information, amalgam continues to be a safe and effective restorative material." The Council’s report also states, "There currently appears to be no justification for discontinuing the use of dental amalgam.""

Here's the link to the ADA website containing this statement which is valid and functioning as of this writing (11/18/2004):

Did you know that the ADA has posted recommended handling proceedures for amalgam material which include using the "no touch" method? How then does amalgam suddenly become safe in the human mouth?

Your first and most logical question might be, "Why would the ADA want to cover this up"?

In a world full of coverup and scandal, the answer should be obvious. According to Hal Huggins—the person leading the fight to have amalgam fillings removed from dental practice in the United states—the answer is money.

In this radio interview, Huggins states that the ADA receives tens of millions of dollars per year from the manufacture of amalgam fillings:

If this is true—and we'd like to see some evidence of this—the motive for the ADA spreading misinformation about mercury-amalgam fillings is very real.

Please search this website for resources that can help you become informed and recover from the effects of mercury-amalgam dental fillings.
